Description
Over the course of the years, I have developed my fair share of websites. Despite the rise of drag and drop builders like WIX, Shopify, Webflow…, I always opt for Wordpress or custom development.

Why?
Why Wordpress?
Cheap + Open Source + Community
Wordpress is cheap. You pay for hosting and a theme, but often the rest is free. There’s also a huge community that keeps developing and updating all the plugins you can imagine. It’s true that the ease-of-use of shopify can be a plus, but the flexibility of Wordpress means you can do almost anything. The most difficult part is to pick a template that will work well for your business or organisation and that is adapted to the technical level of the client / maintainer.
Templates & Custom Development
In cases where I want even more freedom - this website for example - I choose custom development. However, I still start with a theme. The advantage is that a company or a person has done the design exercise and has built the template to match all different screen sizes. It’s a great way to start building.
