Description
From talking to weddings to pitching my startups, I love to talk in public. It doesn’t mean that I’m not stressed about it, but that’s exactly the thrill.

How
the Thrill
Energise the room
I’m always surprised that no-one notices the stress and people tell me that I look fearless when standing on stage, because that’s definitely not how I feel. But the feeling afterwards, especially if it was successful: you energised the room, you made people laugh, you got their attention, it’s irreplaceable.
Life is short: have fun
I’ve pitched different startups to a lot of people, juries, startup environments and it remains a challenge every time: will the audience be reactive? How will my new slides go? Will I talk too long or too short? What I want to say, makes sense to me, but will everyone in the audience understand the topic or context? A wise mentor told me once: “Just have fun. Life is short.” and “If you weren’t stressed, it would be boring and unimportant.”. I remember that every time I go on stage.
Emotional speeches are harder
However, I believe that speaking publicly at a wedding, something I did a fair amount of times as well, is even more thrilling. Here you are, in front of a lot of people you know, trying to be funny and entertaining with your personal anecdotes on the most important day of these people’s lives. There’s often a lot of emotions involved as well, and more difficult passages of the speech. It’s absolutely wonderful.

Sorry
That was a lot of pictures of myself. It's not that I'm narcissistic, but I wanted you to see that I'm not lying about public speaking =)
